About RX-

"RX-" started as a funny team name for a team CrossFit competition in the scaled division. Obviously it's a play on the RX+ being more than RX and "scaled" being less than RX or "RX-". I loved the logo and the response we received from the community and it got me thinking. I don't love the term scaled when it comes to workouts and competitions. It implies a degree of settling. I want to be an RX athlete. I know not everyone does, but I also know there are many that do. We aren't scaling back our goals and desires. We are just doing our best today which is often less than RX, but with that standard in mind and sight. The more I pondered how and why the term resonated with me I realized it's a good representation of how I view life. I'm a big believer that our happiness is largely determined by how closely we perceive ourselves to fit the molds of who we want to be. We each have our own RX definition for life. Some people need to live very closely to their definition of RX for themselves in order to be happy while others can put that goal a little further out of reach and embrace the grind that comes with trying to obtain it. For me RX- is finding that equilibrium between happiness from your daily successes and failures; and striving for that person you want to be. The parent, spouse, coach, athlete, employee, boss, etc. that you want to be. Most days I don't RX very many areas of my life, but I know that my focus on who I want to be and holding myself accountable to that while creating room for acceptance that I'm not there today will help get me there. RX- is about being happy with where we are today, holding ourselves accountable to our goals and striving for more, and laughing along the way.
